As those more familiar with my work know, I most often paint from photographs. Usually my own, sometimes family or friendsā. But at times, I have an idea for a scene for which there is no literal source material. Itās fun to use my creativity in this way and create the painting from my own memories or ideas. This is such a painting. Over the course of 20 years, I happily recall key āencountersā with poppies in nature (including in my friendsā gardens), that inform my thoughts of how poppies should be presented. This is one in a series and you can read more about it here.
