I love herons. They’re such beautiful birds. Here you have one searching for a last bit of supper just before nighttime. The gradient of the water and the orange and yellow sky were most pleasing to paint. Especially contrasted with the heavy green vegetation. The boats docked for the night in the far distance also move the eye around this painting. This is the fourth or fifth heron I’ve painted. I hope you enjoy!
