Home Poppies
Although I often paint from my own photos, this one was not my own photo. An online friend who lives in Italy was hiking one morning, and capturing some of the gorgeous scenery she was enjoying. Then shared it online so we could all live vicariously! I captured a screenshot from a frame of her video. Her hike was inspiring and I suspected that one day I would paint the view, and sure enough, here it is. I called it “Home Poppies”, mostly because I needed the letter “H” for my alphabetized title structure, I must admit. But also because I paused to imagine what it would be like if I called Italy home as she did. Read about my Poppies series of paintings, here.
Size (h & d): 6 x 8 in
Medium: Oil on cradle board
