Moon Rising

$200.00

It feels especially gratifying to me when I create a painting and it successfully conveys the feeling I experienced when first observing the scene that inspired the artwork. Here, the early-evening moon is rising across the Neuse River in Oriental, North Carolina. The soft reflections of its light sprinkle across the water all the way to the rocky shore. The colors of the sky are a pale blue and peachy pink. In the distance, the water is darkest blue-green and closer to the shore is a sort of olive green that becomes lighter the closer it gets. The pink and white ray of moonlight reflection seems to shimmer and dance on the water’s surface. You sense that all is well in the world as the gentle breeze warms the night.

Size: 5 x 7 in
