This was part of series I painted focusing on the subject of "reflections". A Dayton Beach friend routinely gets up at 4 am to photograph the rising sun and its reflections. I used this one of his photos for my series. I loved how the upper clouds show in the surf, contrasting with the high rise buildings off in the distance.
