Imagine standing on North Shore, Hawaii and viewing this scene. Wouldn’t you want to paint it or have it displayed in your home? I did just that. When I shot the photo, that was my exact intention. Later when I painted it, I was elated to successfully capture the gorgeous rich blues and teal hues of the water and the hint of pale purple in the clear sky. Recreating the scene allowed me to once again feel the the wind in my skin, see the waves breaking on the harsh dark rocks and feel the warmth of the air. Every time I see this painting, I am there again in those moments. I hope everyone who sees it is transported as well.
