Shana

$900.00

This is my painting of jazz singer, Shana Tucker, performing at Greensboro College several years ago. I was working her green room and during our conversations, found her to be so friendly. She had a warm attitude and vibe backstage and this carried onto the stage, pleasing the audience mightily as her stage presence is spectacular. I was so moved by the experiences of that night that when I saw one of the photos I took of her from the audience I knew I had to try to capture the image in a painting. The reflections on the cello, her bold, beautiful dress, my memories of that night they all contributed to the fun I had when I turned that idea into a reality. I don’t paint a lot of people, but I have been terribly pleased by the results of this one.
