While in Washington State last year, I was delighted to have the opportunity to see poppies in more than one place. They were growing in my friend’s garden. They were also growing on one of the islands we visited! I knew I would paint from the photos taken while there. (Not just paintings from sailing, either!) When I decided to paint an entire series, that’s when the time was right. The ones in this painting were in a field on one of those islands. Read about my Poppies Series in my blog, here.
